Performance Monitoring and Accountability 2020 (PMA2020) is a five-year project funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation that is designed to facilitate annual progress reporting in support of the goals and principles of FP2020. The project will support low-cost, rapid-turnaround household and facility surveys to routinely update national indicators on family planning and water and sanitation. The project is implemented by in-country university and research organizations, deploying a cadre of female resident enumerators trained in mobile-assisted data collection. PMA2020 establishes a sentinel data collection platform that transforms the way health survey data is collected -- a platform that may be utilized for monitoring a range of health program areas in future modules. Program countries include: Ghana, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria, Niger, Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Indonesia, and India.
Two Graduate Student Research Assistants are needed to assist the PMA2020 Data and Program Teams with data cleaning and analysis as well as project coordination and implementation. There will be some administrative duties and the possibility of supporting our Communications Team.
We seek motivated research assistants to provide overall back-stopping support to our programmatic and data management teams for the coordination, roll-out, and dissemination of data of PMA2020 surveys in our current geographies. Tasks will include testing our survey on a smart phone (phone will be provided), updating training materials and templates, writing posts relevant to project activities, using STATA to clean datasets for public release, preparing data user tools to accompany datasets, and generating and cross-checking family planning and reproductive health indicators. This position is particularly well-suited for someone with an interest in population survey design and implementation, and who is willing to be flexible and take on a diverse array of tasks.
How to Apply:
This position will pay $18-$20/hour based on experience for up to 19 hours/week. Interested applicants should send their resumes and cover letters to Shulin Jiang, PMA2020 Research Data Manager, at email@example.com, with a subject line “PMA RA Application”.
