Performance Monitoring and Accountability 2020 (PMA2020) is a multi-country research project led by the Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health that uses innovative mobile technology to track FP2020 indicators, strengthen national M&E systems, and provide programmatic feedback to family planning, maternal/newborn health, WASH, primary health care, and other health stakeholders.
PMA2020 is seeking a Senior Research Data Manager to assist with the oversite of data management and programming activities across all project countries and in Baltimore. The Senior Research Data Manager will provide technical assistance and management over an international data management team. The Senior Research Data Manger will be primarily responsible for the management of the data release process for all PMA countries and oversee the expansion of the PMA data visualization platform.
Specific tasks that the Research Data Manager will be responsible for include:
+ Training and supervising data management staff and research assistants.
+ Developing and managing data documentation and materials for publicly released data.
+ Leading analyses for reports, data briefs, and auxiliary publications for new topic modules.
+ Leading or assisting with the development of peer-reviewed journal manuscripts.
+ Defining and producing indicators for a data visualization platform.
+ Development and management of training materials for international staff.
+ Coordination and training of country partner technical staff.
+ Assist with any additional data management, analysis, or technical support needs that arise throughout the life of the project as assigned by supervisor.
+ Degree of independent action performed on the job:
+ The Senior Research Data Manager will be expected to work with a high degree of independence and will report to PMA2020’s Associate Director of Research.
+ Bachelor's degree in related discipline. Master's degree preferred. Five years related experience. Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
+ Demonstrated excellence in data management and analysis required, preferably in the field of population health.
+ Advanced Stata skills, primarily for data management required. Additional statistical software package experience a plus.
+ This position requires extensive experience using statistical analysis software. Experience with STATA is required.
+ Willing to travel internationally up to 30% of time.
+ Ability to manage multiple activities, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
+ Ability to execute assignments with a short turnaround time.
+ Experience with ODK preferred.
+ Management of personnel or students preferred.
+ Experience in family planning, maternal health, or nutrition field preferred.
+ Experience with conducting trainings or teaching experience preferred.
