PMA2020/Burkina Faso Principal Investigator: Dr. Georges Guiella
Dr. Georges Guiella is a researcher and lecturer at the Institut Supérieur des Sciences de la Population (ISSP) of the University of Ouagadougou.
His research background focuses on assessing integrated community case management of childhood illness (iCCM) in community-based health systems through a network of community-based health workers using information and communication technologies. He also coordinates the Small Grants Program for Research in Family Planning in Francophone Sub-Saharan Africa, in collaboration with the Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health.
Dr. Guiella holds an MSc in Demography from the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium) and a Ph.D. in Demography from the University of Montréal (Canada).
PMA2020/Burkina Faso Data Manager: Lonkila Moussa Zan
Lonkila Moussa Zan is a research assistant at the Institut Supérieur des Sciences de la Population (ISSP) of the University of Ouagadougou. He is the in-country data manager for PMA2020 in Burkina Faso. Zan has worked at the Institut National de la Statistique et de la Demographie (INSD) conducting data collection, management and analysis. He also helped coordinate the implementation of the independent evaluation survey of the PMNCH project in Burkina Faso with ISSP and JHU’s Institute for International Programs.
Zan holds an MSc in Innovation, Developpement et Societé from the International Institute of Water Engineering and Environment (2IE) and an MSc in Demography from the Institut de Formation et de Recherche Démographiques (IFORD), University of Yaounde II.
